Each kick tail features a precision-angled 33° ramp. This is engineered for maximum leverage, allowing your foot to remain flat on the ramp even when angled as far down as 22° from the surfboard deck. -

Why it Works
The 33° ramp provides a rock-solid platform for your back foot, keeping your leg, ankle, and foot in a straight line perpendicular to the ramp on the kick at 57˚ from the surfboard deck, a common angle centered in the range of motion occuring during most turning maneuvers. This allows you to push as hard as you want with minimum shear force against your ankle during high-load carving and turning maneuvers. Our patented black flat top kick tail with a 33 degree ramp is designed to support your entire foot so when executing a powerful snap or carve or aerial maneuver, it's much easier to do without falling. With your back foot planted on the ramp, you can tell you're not going to slip off the back of your board, so you surf more aggressively with more confidence and can pull of morre difficult maneuvers with better control. Beginning and pro surfers can expect immediate improvement.
The flat top kick tail comes in five variations: Black, Translucent Gray, Clear, w/traction and w/traction and arch support.
Black, clear and translucent gray kicks use wax for grip. Black goes with practically any board color. Translucent gray gives an edgy, futuristic vibe to your board. Clear is super cool in that you can see your board colors through the kick tail and by placing LED lights under the kick in the light compartment, they can light up at night! Having traction on the ramp of the kick is great for those of you who love feel of foam under your feet, and traction WITH arch support allows you to cup the arch support area with the bottom of your foot for extra grip.
This kick tail is interchangeable with any other RIKT kick tail. The plastic kick tails feel like an extension of your surfboard and our riders tell us that wax on their kick tail grips as good as EVA foam traction so whether or not you choose wax or foam under your back foot is not so much a matter of grip but what you like to feel under your feet because both work equally well.
This kick tail requires a RIKT Stingray mounting plate.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
RIKT interchangeable kick tails deliver the highest level of performance in the RIKT system, but they require a smooth deck surface for proper adhesion.
For best results:
- New boards are ideal.
- Used boards must be free of deep pressure dings where the mounting plate will be installed.
- The deck must be completely clean and free of wax or residue before installation.
If your board has heavy pressure dings in the tail area, we recommend choosing a Grip 2 traction pad with an integrated kick instead of an interchangeable setup.
